Queensland’s 56th Parliament was officially opened on 14 February 2018 by His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC Governor of Queensland during a ceremony in the Legislative Council Chamber.

The opening of the 56th Parliament followed the swearing in on Tuesday 13 February 2018 at 10am of all 93 Members of Parliament and the election of the Honourable Curtis Pitt MP as the Speaker.
