Governor Roy Cooper shared the following statement in honor of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion:
“Seventy-five years after the D-Day invasion we pause to remember the incredible bravery from those who stormed the beaches of Normandy and turned the tide of history. The greatest generation set an example of courage and leadership and their heroism echoes today as it will for generations to come. We are thankful for their sacrifice today and every day.”
