The Government of Yukon is looking for feedback on potential improvements to three Economic Development funding programs: the Regional Economic Development Fund, Strategic Industries Development Fund and Enterprise Trade Fund.
The Regional Economic Development Fund’s objective is to support economic planning, opportunity identification and capacity development at the regional and community level in Yukon.
The Strategic Industries Development Fund’s objective is to support projects that develop Yukon industries and create broad economic benefits like the creation of long-term jobs and wealth, increased private sector employment, and growth and diversification of various sectors of the economy.
The Enterprise Trade Fund is intended to encourage business development and market expansion beyond Yukon.
Local organizations and stakeholders are being asked how the funding programs are currently working and whether there are opportunities for improvement, including combining the three funding programs into a single program dedicated to supporting a broader range of economic development activities in Yukon.
A public survey is open until July 5, 2019 on EngageYukon.ca.
As we work to grow and diversify Yukon’s economy, we want to ensure that our funding programs are responsive to emerging industries and sectors, and meet the needs of our partners, stakeholders and clients. This engagement will help us better understand how we can meet the needs of Yukon’s business community.

The current budget is $800,000 for the Regional Economic Development Fund, $800,000 for the Strategic Industries Development Fund, and $360,000 for the Enterprise Trade Fund.
