50余万名科技工作者活跃天山南北
记者从自治区科协获悉：截至目前，新疆共有50余万名科技工作者，从事研究探索、开发创新、传播普及、应用维护、管理决策等科技工作。这些科技工作者包括专业技术人员、科技活动人员、科学家和工程师等。
5月30日是全国第三个科技工作者日。设立“全国科技工作者日”，旨在鼓励广大科技工作者牢记职责，切实担负起支撑发展的第一资源作用，紧紧围绕党和国家的中心任务，创新报国，引领发展。
近年来，自治区科协充分发挥联系和服务科技工作者优势，为科技工作者创新创业创造排忧解难，在全社会营造了尊重劳动、尊重知识、尊重人才、尊重创造的良好氛围，形成各类创新主体、创新要素协同发展，各类人才竞相创新创造的良好局面。
此外，自治区科协积极搭建平台服务创新发展，积极推进院士工作站、企业科协、高校科协建设。目前全疆已建成院士专家工作站50家，进站院士60余名；自治区科协本级学会（协会、研究会）101个，团体会员近1万个，个人会员12万余人；企业科协103个，个人会员2000余人；高等院校科协18个；全疆农村专业技术协会148个。
为进一步发挥科技工作者人才优势，服务乡村振兴战略，今年，自治区科协印发《新疆维吾尔自治区乡村振兴农牧民科学素质提升行动实施方案（2019—2022）》，启动实施科普助力乡村振兴行动，力争到2022年，基本形成适应全面建成小康社会、有效服务乡村振兴战略的农村科普框架体系。
