6月3日，省政府召开第十八届环青海湖国际公路自行车赛组委会筹备工作会议，听取前期筹备工作情况汇报，研究组织筹备和运行方案，安排部署下一阶段重点工作。副省长、组委会主任杨逢春出席并讲话。
杨逢春强调，要用新理念探索新机制，创新提高赛事国际化、专业化、市场化水平，在赛事组织、流程设计等方方面面体现国际水准，展现工作专业化、人性化、精细化，推进赛事市场化，确保环湖赛可持续发展。要防范化解各类风险，扎实做好赛事评估，排查各种安全隐患，加强安全预防和应急处置，确保赛事万无一失。要加快发展赛事产业，大力推进“环湖赛+N”融合文章，打造环湖赛系列产品。要以环湖赛为抓手，形成互促共赢的聚合效应，助推社会经济发展。要突出绿色主题，着眼国家公园省建设，阐释好绿色赛事内涵，传播绿色健康生活理念。要突出地域特色，体现文化内涵，融入现代元素，把本届环湖赛开幕式办精彩、办出特色。杨逢春指出，环湖赛是大赛事、大现场，要全方位、多视角宣传推介，持续提升大美青海知名度和美誉度。各地区、各成员单位要提高站位、凝聚共识，加强领导、强化担当，有序、协调、高效地做好筹备工作，确保第十八届环湖赛取得圆满成功。 （王宥力）
