5月30日，省委书记蒋超良到襄阳宜城市调研高质量发展工作，强调要以习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想为指导，坚决贯彻党中央决策部署和省委工作要求，牢牢把握高质量发展要求，全力以赴打好三大攻坚战，统筹做好稳增长、促改革、调结构、惠民生、防风险、保稳定各项工作。
湖北银轮机械有限公司是一家生产汽车热交换器的企业，年产80万台换热器。蒋超良走进生产车间，考察产品性能、工艺流程，鼓励企业加快创新步伐，攻克“卡脖子”关键技术，增强抵御市场风险能力；注重安全生产和环境保护，实现经济效益和社会效益相统一。在宜城市天舒纺织有限公司，蒋超良详细了解企业生产规模、产品订单、盈利能力等情况，肯定“能人回乡”办企业拉动了当地就业和经济发展；勉励企业加快技术改造，在稳住就业的同时，实现产业链上下游互利共赢发展。
蒋超良主持召开座谈会，听取襄阳市委、宜城市委及有关企业、乡镇负责人的工作汇报，充分肯定襄阳市及宜城市以新发展理念为引领，坚持全要素、全产业链、全地域谋划推动县域经济发展，经济社会发展呈现良好态势。
蒋超良指出，要深入学习贯彻习近平新时代中国特色社会主义思想和党的十九大精神，用党的创新理论武装头脑、指导实践、推动工作；结合即将开展的“不忘初心、牢记使命”主题教育，继续在学深悟透上下功夫，学出忠诚、学出自信，以理论上的清醒保证政治上的坚定，进一步增强做到“两个维护”的思想自觉、政治自觉和行动自觉。
蒋超良强调，要深入贯彻落实习近平总书记在推动中部地区崛起工作座谈会上的重要讲话精神，从实现中华民族伟大复兴的高度，深刻认识我们面临的世界百年未有之大变局，积极对接、主动融入中部崛起战略，在促进中部地区崛起中展现新作为。贯彻落实省委十一届五次全体（扩大）会议精神，全力以赴打好三大攻坚战，紧盯重点领域、关键环节防范化解重大风险，以决战决胜的姿态打好脱贫攻坚战，坚持以长江大保护为重点打好污染防治攻坚战。落实高质量发展根本要求，抓重点、补短板、强弱项，扎实做好湖北的事，保持经济运行在合理区间；加快技术改造、转型升级，着力推动先进制造业发展，促进实体经济发展壮大；加快“军转民”“民参军”步伐，打通军民协同创新渠道，推动军民融合发展取得实在成果；加强就业工作具体研判，加大职业培训和就业服务力度，确保就业形势稳定。切实增强政治敏锐性，坚决维护国家政治安全，持续推进扫黑除恶专项斗争，扎实做好安全生产工作，确保政治社会大局稳定。深入推进全面从严治党，重点整治“四风”问题新动向新表现，力戒形式主义、官僚主义，增强巡视巡察实效，减轻基层负担。
